There is something about berry colours that scream Christmas time to me with all the cranberry sauce and spiced berry desserts, so it is only natural to want to replicate our favourite Christmas and winter treats. Whether it be products for you face, lips or nails. berry tones are flattering for everyone and there are so many products and brands to choose from, it would be wrong not to give into the berry trend!
This year has seen me to be very impressed with the colour selection that have been released in the highstreet/drugstore because finally those on a budget can explore the more daring colours before taking the plunge on a more expensive product. One of the products that I have discovered this winter is the Sleek blush in Pomegranate, it is such a gorgeous and rich purple/berry colour that would look so beautiful on darker skin tones because I really think it would add some warmth to the complexion, especially with the shimmer that runs through the blush as well. The Sleek blushes are so pigmented that you really cannot go wrong when picking one of these up, there are by far the best highstreet blushes in my opinion! Bourjois also never seem to disappoint with their products of late either, the Colour Boost Crayon in Plum Russian. This is a really nice glossy lip product that is very easy to apply but you have to reapply every so often because after a few hours it does begin to wear and fade in the middle of the lips. These are perfect for everyday wear if you are not confident enough to go for a full on dark, matte lip. Keeping on the topic of lips, the Nars lipgloss in Scandal is a really beautiful product for this time of year. The formula is so smooth and dreamy to apply but the colour, oh the colour, gives your lips such a juicy appearance which is perfect for luring someone under the mistletoe!
Warm berry toned brown eyeshadows is a great way to spice up your everyday neutral eye look and they suit all eye colours, but especially help bring attention to beautiful blue and green eyes! My pick this winter has been MAC’s eyeshadow in Antiqued; it is a stunning red toned eyeshadow that looks so good softly blended all over the lid with black or a deep brown eyeliner smudged into the lash line. If there is a slot missing in your MAC eyeshadow palette then this could be the shadow to fill it!
However, even though I love all of these products, my favourite has to be the Dior nail polish in Galaxie, just look at this metallic berry beauty! It is is such a unique colour and looks amazing when it catches the light. I love how this polish is so true to colour when on the nails and it really is the perfect polish for the Christmas and New Year parties which will get you many a compliment!
Have you been embracing the berry tones this Christmas? What is your favourite product?
